MAX ART FEST
is the festival of the contemporary art in Zagreb Croatia Europe, which takes place every first week in October. Using deserted spaces, undergrounds, squares, apartments... the authors of the concept create a kind of a contemporary art mystery through which the audience strolls as in some sort of pilgrimage. Deserted spaces had some purpose in the past, but now all they can do is wait for someone to give them a purpose for the future. Something like the time we live in. Must that waiting for a purpose be quiet, reticent, in fear, passive... or can the contemporary art still communicate something? If only in highly passivized cultural reality as it is today.
The concepts of Leo Katunaric are two journeys, through the unrest and the oblivion of 2008 and 2009. What must we suppress and forget in order to lead our normal and everyday lives?
